Released in 2020, Lenovo’s 10-inch IdeaPad Duet Chromebook was a huge hit due to its impeccable performance, portability, and affordability. Priced at only $300, the two-in-one Chromebook became especially popular as educational institutes switched to online learning during the pandemic. If you enjoyed this Chromebook, then you will be glad to know that it’s getting an update this year in 2022.

During this year’s Mobile World Congress in February, Lenovo announced that the company would be releasing an updated version of their most beloved Chromebook. The new 11-inch Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 3, which is set to release in May 2022, would come with a lot of improvements and a slight increase in the price point.

You can also consider the IdeaPad Duet 3 Chromebook as a toned-down version of the IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook that was released in September 2021. Users can expect to find a lot of their favorite features from the 13-inch Duet 5 tablet but in a smaller body. Given its compact size, you will be able to carry it around anywhere you want. The portability makes it an ideal tablet for students who have to carry their devices every day for educational purposes.

Let’s dig a little deeper and discover this tablet’s specifications, features, functionality, and more.

Everything You Need to Know About Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 3

Before we get into the technical details, here are the main features of the upcoming Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 3 that we are really excited about:

  • A flexible two-in-one Chromebook/tablet that comes with a detachable keyboard.
  • A lightweight body that only weighs 1.14lbs.
  • Battery life that would last you an entire day.
  • A brilliant 2K display with incredibly thin bezels.
  • Support for Stylus pen, which comes in handy for sketching or note-taking.
  • Powered by Chrome OS and Qualcomm Snapdragon.
  • Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity.
  • Two USB-C ports.

More Flexibility with Multiple Modes

Do you feel like you are always on the go? The Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 3 is designed for life on the go! Whether you are in school, at home, out shopping, sitting in a cafe, or at work, you can make the most of its multiple modes by taking notes on the screen with a stylus or by using the handy detachable keyboard. Don’t feel like working? Just flip the keyboard to the back and stream videos in full-screen tablet mode. And when you spot something share-worthy on the road, take the tablet out and capture the moment using its 8MP rear camera.

Enjoy Fast Performance All Day

Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 3 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 processor that is guaranteed to deliver a fast, smooth, and quiet performance, enabling you to complete all your tasks quickly. It would come installed with a fast and secure Chrome OS that is quite easy to use. Moreover, the advertised battery life is said to be 12 hours, which means you would practically be able to use your device all day without having to scout for power outlets.

What’s more, it will come with 64GB storage and 4GB RAM, so you can store a fair amount of data on the device while enjoying higher access speeds when multitasking. It also has fully-functional connectivity options with USB-C ports, WiFi 5, and Bluetooth 5.1.

8MP Rear and 5MP Front-Facing Cameras

Although an 8MP rear camera is not an out-of-this-world addition, it is quite impressive when compared to other Chrome OS tablets. The 5MP front-facing camera will also serve as a pretty decent upgrade from those 2MP Chromebook cameras, especially considering how often Chromebook owners use these.

A Keyboard that Automatically Locks

The Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 3 comes with a magnetic stand called folio that you can extend to support the screen. What’s more, there is also a pretty cool feature that automatically locks the keyboard when it is flushed behind the IdeaPad so that no keys are pressed accidentally. You can also detach the folio and keyboard and use the IdeaPad as a tablet.

A Brilliant 2K Display

Hate bezels on the screen? So do we! The Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 3 comes with an 11-inch 2K display with minimized bezels, offering a viewing area that is 15.8% greater than any of its predecessors. So there is more to see and more to do on the screen. And since it is a touchscreen, you can use quick features like zoom and scroll to carry out any functions quickly.

Unleash Your Inner Artist

When inspiration strikes, you can bring out the stylus pen and unleash your inner artist on the big touchscreen. The Lenovo IdeaPad Chromebook Duet 3 would come with support for a USI 2.0 stylus pen. Although it does not come with the box, you will be able to purchase it separately if you like taking notes with a stylus or are into sketching or doodling. There is also tilt support for angled brushstrokes as well as latency for faster uplinks.

Ports

The Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 3 only comes with two USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 ports. They’re functional enough for a tablet, but if you’re looking for more ports, you might need to consider investing in something more advanced.

What’s In the Box?

The Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 3 would come with a water-resistant detachable keyboard with anti-pry keys and a 30W charging adapter. However, as mentioned earlier, Lenovo would not be selling the IdeaPad Duet 3 with a stylus pen. So if you are someone who takes a lot of notes or likes sketching, you will need to buy the pen separately.

Pricing

The Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 3 will be priced at $399.99. This is the starting price for the base version. The price will be higher if you want to upgrade the RAM or storage. However, it is still a pretty affordable price considering all the great features this two-in-one Chromebook would have in store for us.
