Taking a screenshot on a Chromebook is a little tricky at first, but going to be very easy when you know how to do it.
First of all, if you go to your settings and check out your keyboard´s configuration where you can find all useful short keys for that specific Chromebooks of yours. Let ́s go there
- Go to settings
- Select Device
- Select keyboard
- view keyboard shortcut (click the arrow ) here opens up the windows:
As you can see here:
For Full Screen:
- Press and hold down Ctrl + Windows switching key
For partial or selected screenshot
- Press and hold Ctrl + shift+ windows switching key
At this point, the cursor switches to crosshair shape for your selection, just select and drag the desired portion or block and release the mouse button. Your screenshot will be stored in the download folder by default.
Now for some Chromebooks, you may need another step to take a screenshot. You need to shift into the function key by pressing the search key on your keyboard.
So on Acer Chromebook CB 3-431, we have noticed that if you are not getting your screenshot by this combination then use the following:
- Press and hold Ctrl+search+windows switching key (for full screen)
- Press and hold Ctrl+Shift+search+windows switching key(for selection)
Where do the screenshots go on a Chromebook?
Both types of your Screenshots will save on downloads automatically with a pops up of the screenshot on your right corner over the date and battery status bar.you can select to copy on the clipboard as well.
